The Canada Day Pet Contest was run again this year by Brenda James. Wendy & Glenn Lucas assisted. It was all dogs this year which went with the musical start "Who let the dogs out" in very hot 34 degrees C weather but was held in the shade. The participants that performed were Maddie, a miniature Golden Doodle with her handler Laurel Dewar; Stella, a Roosevelt Terrier with Kathy Alden; Gnocchi, a Frenchie with Karyn Dolan; Zeke a Great Dane with the Moodley Family; Miller, a lab with Janet Huxley; Enzo Furrari, a Golden with Janice Latorre and Ace a Pomsky with Krystal Hughes. More dogs were registered but the heat proved too much for them. All the dogs present were provided with water, treats and received great prizes donated by Brenda James.
The 'Best in Show' silver trophy was donated by Donna Sullivan in memory of Janet and Phil Huxley's dog, Molson. Zeke from the Moodley family won this trophy for the year and will return it to be awarded again in next years Pet Contest.
