News - Indoor and Outdoor Gatherings are Prohibited

On Saturday April 17th, new public health and safety measures took effect in Ontario. The revised lock-down restrictions and stay-at-home orders are intended to limit the spread of Covid-19 and prohibit all indoor and outdoor social gatherings and organized public events, except for with members of the same household or one other person from outside that household who lives alone.

Due to these provincial restrictions, effective immediately, the Bayshore tennis courts are closed for use and although our golf course is not ready for the season, golf has also been restricted until further notice.

Harbours and boat launches are also currently closed as we work through assigning slips and invoicing for 2021. When the restrictions allow for harbours and launches, we will formally announce their opening once slip assignment and invoicing is complete. By-law enforcement will be paused with respect to recreational vehicles and boats on driveways during this time.

The Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit recommends cancelling or postponing all non-essential events and gatherings so we are postponing the planned Earth Day neighbourhood clean-up scheduled for April 24.

Full details of the new restrictions can be found here: covid-19.ontario.ca/zones-and-restrictions.

Please take a moment to review them, especially the content around social gatherings. The measures are in place for the protection of you and your friends, family and neighbours. Exercising, biking, trail walking and other independent activities are still permitted and encouraged. We encourage members to avoid gathering in groups, wear masks and limit inter-region travel.

A final word about vaccines. The province has announced that those 40+ can now seek appointments. Details and instructions can be found here: covid-19.ontario.ca/book-vaccine

We thank you for your continued support and attention to these new measures. We're hopeful that they are short-term in nature and that some easing of the restrictions will occur on May 20 when they are set to expire.
