News - Bayshore Village Standardized Street Signage

Emergency Medical Services, Police and Fire Departments had voiced concern about address identification, especially at night. Inconsistent address placement, no street lights and large building setbacks are the contributing factors to the issue.
The Board believes that anything affecting membership safety is a non-discretionary expense. The budget for these signs is approximately $5000 which is significantly less than the green municipal signs which would have cost $96K. Volunteers will be installing these signs over the next month.
Craig Child, as the Director of Architecture, proposed and managed the approval of this program. The Board believes time is of the essence during emergency situations and that the new signs will ensure BVA residents are located by emergency services quickly and without confusion.
There will be a crew installing the signage on the lampposts beginning in late August and the project will likely be finished by the end of September. Obstacles hampering installation will be removed and will be the homeowners’ responsibility to put them back, if they desire.

Your cooperation with volunteers installing these signs will be greatly appreciated.
